Typhoon Mina - PAGASA Weather Update August 27

Typhoon Mina (NANMADOL) PAGASA Severe Weather Bulletin Number 15 issued at 11:00 p.m., Friday, 26 August 2011







At 12:00 a.m. today, Tropical Storm "MINA" (NANMADOL) has maintained its strength as it continues to endanger Northern Luzon.



Tropical Depression "Mina" is estimated based on satellite and surface data at 130 km East of Tuguegarao City (17.6°N, 123.1°E) with maximum sustained winds of 195 kph near the center and Gustiness of up to 230 kph.



Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) forecast shows that Mina is moving Northwest at 9 kph.

Residents in low lying and mountainous areas under Public Storm Warning Signals, Southern Luzon and Visayas are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides. Likewise, those living in coastal areas are alerted against big waves or storm surges generated by this tropical cyclone.



Estimated rainfall amount is from 15-25 mm per hour within the 600 km diameter of the typhoon.
