Heath Ledger's Last Last Work: Edgy Music Video Featuring Rapper "No Fixed Abode"

The film The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus is widely believed to be Heath Ledger's last work before he was found dead in his NYC apt in January of last year. Now however, a music video that Heath directed has started circulating the net. The 3 1/2 minute opus featuring British rapper No Fixed Abode, was reportedly made in Ledger's garage in Sydney a few months before he died.

I see the joker here.

Updated Trailer of Heath Ledger's Last Movie - The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus

Wikipedia describes the film's plot thus:

In the present day, immortal 1,000-year-old Doctor Parnassus (Christopher Plummer) leads a traveling theater troupe that offers audience members a chance to go beyond reality through a magical mirror in his possession. Members of the troupe include a sleight of hand expert, Anton (Andrew Garfield), and a dwarf (Verne Troyer), Percy Parnassus had been able to guide the imagination of others through a deal with the Devil (Tom Waits), who now comes to collect on the arrangement, targeting the doctor's daughter (Lily Cole). The troupe, which is joined by a mysterious outsider named Tony (portrayed by Ledger, Depp, Law, and Farrell),embark through parallel worlds to rescue the girl.

Vanity Fair, meanwhile, notes on it's August 10th issue:

"The phantasmagorical dreamscapes in The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus are, judging by the newly released trailer, as wildly, awesomely imaginative as anything director Terry Gilliam has done since his absurdist animations in Monty Python’s Flying Circus: stepping stones floating among cosmically large high-heeled shoes; Tom Waits morphing into a cobra snake; a hot-air balloon (that Gilliam staple) made of a dozen faces; giant flying jellyfish… (As a diehard fan of Gilliam’s The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, another film that dissolves the curtain between theater and fantasy, I was disappointed only by the extent to which the director has relied on computer graphics to craft his illusions.)

The film was Heath Ledger’s last. From the few clips we of his performance, Ledger’s manic theatricality stands up to Gilliam’s, and might even live up to his own Oscar-winning tour-de-force as the Joker in The Dark Knight. In the August issue, Peter Biskind wrote about the actor’s final days—he died of a lethal mix of prescription medication halfway through the filming of Parnassus—and about how working on this film provided Ledger with daily respite from personal tumult".

Heath Ledger's Unfinished Film:The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus

Spoiler Warning!
The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus is a fantastical morality tale, set in the present day. It tells the story of Dr Parnassus and his extraordinary 'Imaginarium', a traveling show where members of the audience get an irresistible opportunity to choose between light and joy or darkness and gloom. Blessed with the extraordinary gift of guiding the imaginations of others, Dr Parnassus is cursed with a dark secret. Long ago he made a bet with the devil, Mr. Nick, in which he won immortality. Many centuries later, on meeting his one true love, Dr Parnassus made another deal with the devil, trading his immortality for youth, on the condition that when his first-born reached its 16th birthday he or she would become the property of Mr. Nick. Valentina is now rapidly approaching this 'coming of age' milestone and Dr. Parnassus is desperate to protect her from her impending fate. Mr. Nick arrives to collect but, always keen to make a bet, renegotiates the wager. Now the winner of Valentina will be determined by whoever seduces the first five souls. Enlisting a series of wild, comical and compelling characters in his journey, Dr Parnassus promises his daughter's hand in marriage to the man that helps him win. In this captivating, explosive and wonderfully imaginative race against time, Dr Parnassus must fight to save his daughter in a never-ending landscape of surreal obstacles - and undo the mistakes of his past once and for all. The film is scheduled to be released sometime in 2009.

Jude Law, Johnny Depp and Colin Farrell To Assume Heath Ledger's Last Role

It is taking three top names: Jude Law,Johnny Depp,Colin Farrell– to step into Heath Ledger's final role, in the unfinished movie "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus", according to a rep for Law.

Speaking to the BBC, Law's spokeswoman confirmed that the three actors would play Ledger's role of Tony. She was unaware, however, as to how the part would be restructured in the film, which deals with magic.

Ledger, 28, was still shooting the $30-million movie, directed by Terry Gilliam and costarring Christopher Plummer, when he was found dead from an accidental overdose of prescription medicines on Jan. 22.

The BBC speculates that the production will retain its original footage of Ledger, with Law, Depp and Farrell each playing different versions of Tony.

The weekend before Ledger's death, he and Plummer had both completed the London portion of the movie's shoot and were due to continue filming the following week in Vancouver, Canada. Production was suspended when the tragedy struck.

At the time the production left England, Plummer told PEOPLE, "Heath was in very high spirits. He was just enjoying himself tremendously. It's a rather fanciful script, and he was wonderful in this role."

Heath Ledger's Final Portrait

Australia’s The Daily Telegraph reports that Melbourne artist Vincent Fantauzzo put the finishing touches on his painting of Heath Ledger at his Docklands studio the day before the star was found dead in his NY apartment.

Ledger sat for Fantauzzo on his last visit home to Perth, Australia in December. Fantauzzo painted Ledger with the intention of entering the portrait in the prestigious Archibald Prize later this year. But the newly finished work got an early showing, when, with the approval of the Ledger family, Fantauzzo released the image to the media. The painting depicts the notoriously private actor as three separate images. The central, and largest, image is of Ledger, bare-chested, looking straight ahead, appearing pained and exhausted. The two background images are of Ledger wearing humorous expressions, whispering into the ears of his foreground image.

Heath Ledger Unforgettable Memorial Service

This is just what everyone really needs, some closure and life goes on no matter how much it hurts!! Heath, you will be missed!!
Following a memorial at Penrhos College for hundreds of mourners, Michelle Williams, escorted by police, arrived with a small entourage of Ledger's closest family for a more intimate service at Fremantle Cemetery, just outside Perth, Australia. The chapel at Fremantle, which was blacked out with sheets and scaffolding, has only eight wooden pews and a lectern.
There, Williams read William Shakespeare’s Sonnet 18 (“Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?”).

Less than an hour after arriving, the mourners were spotted putting their arms around a clearly distressed Williams and hugging the chaplain in gratitude as they departed.
From there, they headed to the Indiana Tea House on Cottesloe Beach, where attendees from the earlier memorial could be seen smoking and drinking beer and red and white wine on the patio of the establishment, which has a spectacular view of the ocean. Williams was visibly shaken and looked like she had just been crying when she entered the restaurant.

Heath Ledger Death Was Accidental & How Did Michelle Explain it to Matilda

Tragic Heath Ledger’s deadly cocktail of drugs included pills that are as addictive as heroin.
Official toxicology results confirmed the star died from “abuse” of pills - although his father immediately insisted it was an “accidental death” from combining pills “even at low dosage”.
However, the list of pills paint an alarming picture of the actor’s last days, including some that are highly addictive. Most notoriously, he had taken Diazepam, which is better known as Valium - a widely abused drug that is highly addictive.
But even more worryingly, he had also taken oxycodone and hydrocodone - both highly-addictive pain killers that are similar to morphine.
This is something that I can’t ever know how hard it must be on his family… and I’m certainly not here to judge anyone but I wonder who prescribed all this pills and why??
It’s very irresponsible taking pills like that, plus the authorities are looking into the prescriptions… seems they are questioning the legality of them.
Back to what really should matter now is how Matilda is dealing with the absence of her father since she can’t understand the tragic events surrounding her dad’s ‘disappearance’.
A source close the family tells “Michelle and the family are showering Matilda with love right now to cushion it so she isn’t really aware,” and adds “Michelle basically told Matilda, ‘Daddy went away.’ Matilda still doesn’t grasp it.”
“All that I can cling to is his presence inside her that reveals itself every day,” Williams said in a statement Friday. “His family and I watch Matilda as she whispers to trees, hugs animals and takes steps two at a time, and we know that he is with us still.”

Eric Bana Shocked by Heath Ledger’s Death

Everyone has been touched by Heath Ledger’s tragic end. Eric Bana was shocked with the news even if he just met Heath once or twice while promoting their movies.
"I only met him a few times and had met his dad who races cars too," Bana said in Melbourne yesterday.
"Both films (Brokeback Mountain and Munich) got nominated at the same time so we bumped into each other on the circuit.
"It (his death) was extremely tragic and it took a few days for it to sink in. I think the most distressing thing to me was looking back and thinking how significant each 10 years is as a person.
"As a man and a father I look at the age of 28 to 38 as being an incredible period to go through and he was robbed of that. From my own personal experience I just thought how unbelievably tragic it is. It's shocking."
Again I can’t still believe it… best wishes to Heath’s family and friends!!
Eric’s new movie is ‘The Other Boleyn Girl’ set to premiere March 13.

Possibly Last Video Footage of Heath Ledger Alive

Shot from an apartment window overlooking the Clerkenwell set of "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus." It was reportedly taped on the evening of January 19.

Michelle Williams Heartbreaking Statement About Heath Ledger

I'm still having a hard time believing it… but it’s true and it’s the first time Michelle speaks her mind after Heath Ledger’s tragic death to ask for privacy and respect.
"Please respect our need to grieve privately. My heart is broken. I am the mother of the most tender-hearted, high-spirited, beautiful little girl who is the spitting image of her father. All that I can cling to is his presence inside her that reveals itself every day. His family and I watch Matilda as she whispers to trees, hugs animals, and takes steps two at a time, and we know that he is with us still. She will be brought up with the best memories of him."

As for the video or any speculations about Heath use or not of illegal substances don’t expect to hear about it here… cause I'm not touching that subject… just trying to respect his family, they have been through so much so they need no more drama.
