The Paintings of Renaissance Masters Blended with the Images of Superheros

This wonderful and fun website call worth1000 does frequent competitions among it's members involving photoshop. This is the result of a contest they did blending the paintings of Renaissance Masters with that of superheros such as Batman in it's incarnation as The Black Knight, Spiderman, and Catwoman among others. This stuff is really well done.


The Son Of Batman is a remake of Belgian surrealist master Rene Magritte’s “The Son on Man.”

“Catwoman”, is based on one of Salvador Dali’s many surrealist paintings.

“The Death of Kent” which is a digital reworking of David’s Death of Marat.


Next we have a representation called “Spiderman and Doc Oc” which was inspired by a painting from the irrepressibly impious Salvador Dali.


“David X Men” which was, off course, was inspired by the world famous statue by Renaissance master Michelangelo.


“The Joker.” This representation was inspired by one of Rembrandt’s many self portraits.

"We’re supposed to get a new Dark Knight trailer on Sunday, and I’m excited. We’ve had the teaser for a few weeks now, but one thing I’ve wondered since seeing it the first time is why so many scenes look like they were ripped out of Tim Burton’s Batman from 1989.
I guess I’m not alone. One very talented video editor remade the teaser out of scenes from Burton’s film and put together a pretty good shot-for-shot clone. It’s eerie how similar they are, but also really fun to watch". says crunchgear

Heath Ledger To Live On As a Doll

Aussie actor Heath Ledger is to be immortalized as an action figure for his final character, The Joker.
Mattel will market the new Heath Ledger 'The Joker' doll from May.
Two versions of the doll will be released. One will carry a rocket launcher in his hand. The other comes with a knife.
Ledger's death is expected the make the doll a collectible.
Multiple items are being manufactured to market the new Batman movie 'The Dark Knight' but the Ledger figure is expected to be the favorite.
Heath Ledger died in New York on January 22, 2008. His death was ruled an accidental overdose.
Late last year, Ledger completed work on the Batman movie 'The Dark Knight'. It was to be his last ever movie.
'The Dark Knight' is the sequel to 2005's 'Batman Begins'.

Heath Ledger: 1979-2008

By now the news has spread that the 28 year Australian actor Heath Ledger was found dead in New York City of still-to-be-determined causes. Ledger's resume was extensive for someone his age. At some point in his short career, Ledger began to gravitate more toward independent fare, including Lasse Hallstrom's "Casanova" and Terry Gilliam's "The Brothers Grimm," both released in 2005. His 2006 film "Candy" now seems destined to have an especially haunting quality: In a particularly realistic performance, Ledger played a poet wrestling with a heroin addiction along with his girlfriend, played by Abbie Cornish.

But Ledger's most recent choices were arguably the boldest yet: He costarred in "I'm Not There," in which he played one of the many incarnations of Bob Dylan - as did Cate Blanchett, whose performance in that film earned an Oscar nomination Tuesday for best supporting actress.

And in what may be his final finished performance, Ledger proved that he wouldn't be intimidated by taking on a character as iconic as Jack Nicholson's Joker. Ledger's version of the "Batman" villain, glimpsed in early teaser trailers, made it clear that his Joker would be more depraved and dark. Hope you're in a good place Heath.
